The Indian Coast Guard Ship ‘Shoor’ arrived to the port of Colombo on 04th April 2017 on a goodwill and training visit. The ship was ceremonially received by the Sri Lanka Navy and Sri Lanka Coast Guard in accordance with naval traditions on arrival at the port.
After her arrival, the Commanding Officer of the ship, Deputy Inspector General Surendra Singh Dasila Moroe called on the Director General Sri Lanka Coast Guard at the Coast Guard Rear Headquarters Wellawatta on same day. During the meeting, they held cordial discussions on issues of mutual interest and the bilateral importance. Mementos were also exchanged to mark the significance of the event.
During the stay at port of Colombo,the ship conducted several training sessions for the Sri Lanka Coast Guard personnel and could able to attend a wide range of activities organized by the Sri Lanka Coast Guard. On 8th April 2017, the ship proceeded to the sea with Sri Lanka Coast Guard official and conducted several practical exercises at sea off Colombo as a final event according to the scheduled programme of ship visit.
