SRI LANKA COAST GUARD REPATRIATED 77 INDIAN FISHERMEN

       Sri Lanka Coast Guard and Sri Lanka Navy repatriated 77 Indian fishermen who were released from Sri Lankan custody on 03rd August 2017. These fishermen were apprehended by Sri Lanka Coast Guard and Sri Lanka Navy while they were engaging bottom trawling fishing illegally in Northern Sri Lankan waters.

      Coast Guard patrol boat ‘CG 41’ and Navy ship ‘L820’ proceeded with Indian fisherman from Kankasanthurai harbour and handed over them to the ICGS Sarang at the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) at 1630hrs on same day.
