COAST GUARD SAVED ANOTHER LIFE AT PASIKUDA

The Life Savers attached to Coast Guard Life Saving Posts, Pasikuda saved a local female during a successful rescue attempt on 18th April 2021.

The rescuer, a 22 years old female from Batticaloa was rescued around 1315 hrs on 18th April 2021 whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near Pasikuda Beach.

The swift responses by skilled life savers of Coast Guard managed to bring back hope for the lady despite heavy current prevailed in the area. A 12 years boy had been rescued at the same locality in the previous day.

Sri Lanka Coast Guard has established 4 Life Saving Posts at Pasikuda Beach itself to ensure safety of beachgoers. So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard life savers have rescued a total of 1559 invaluable lives including 703 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
