COAST GUARD SUCCESSFULLY ARRESTED 01 PERSON WITH LOCAL CANNABIS IN THANAMALWILA

Based on information gathered by Intelligence staff of Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) and Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG), SLCG Intelligence staff of Kirinda successfully arrested 01 person with 20 packs of Local cannabis with the assistance of Thanamalwila Police around 1450hrs on 12^th September 2021.

They were able to apprehend 25.585kg of Local cannabis which was concealed inside the suspect’s house located in Nikawawa, Thanamalwila. Preliminary investigation revealed, those cannabis were cultivated inside banana plantation near his residence which was belongs to him and prepared to sale for Rs25,000/= per kilogram.

Apprehended cannabis and arrested person handed over to Thanamalwila police for further legal formalities.
