COAST GUARD RESCUED TWO PERSONS AT RISK OF DROWNING

Lifesavers attached to the Coast Guard Life Saving Post, Hikkaduwa beach rescued a local male and an Australian lady during successful rescue attempts on 21st January 2022.

A 37 years old Sri Lankan national residing in Australia and 39 years old lady from Australia, were rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at Hikkaduwa, whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near the Hikkaduwa beach.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 1645 invaluable lives including 714 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
