SLCG OIL SPILL RESPONSE MANAGEMENT TEAM SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THE OIL SPILL RECOVERY MISSION AT KOLONNAWA

The oil spill recovery mission, launched by SLCG Oil Spill Response Management Team together with the help of Sri Lanka Army, Navy, clean-up teams employed by the Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited (CPSTL) and Marine Environmental Protection Authority (MEPA) continued for five days from 16th January 2018 to 20thJanuary 2018. SLCG Team proudly marked the end of this Tier-3 oil spill recovery mission, by successfully recovering 180,000k litres of contaminated furnace oil from the Cannel.

The attempt by SLCG oil spill response management team attained a successful outcome due to continuous effort and dedication put onto this matter by its’ team members backed by the technical skills and logistic support provided to them by SLCG. This mission is yet another proof that depicts the capability of SLCG oil spill response management team to tackle similar situations in any challenging environment.
