3RD INTERNATIONAL MARITIME LAW ENFORCEMENT COURSE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED AT ADVANCED TRAINING CENTRE, (ATC) MIRISSA

International Maritime Law Enforcement (IMLE) course was conducted at Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) Advanced Training Centre, Mirissa for the third time from 12th to 23rdMarch 2018. Whole event was coordinated by the United State Embassy of Sri Lanka and United State Coast Guard (USCG). Eight SLCG Officers participated for the course and four SLCG instructors conducted the training under the supervision of USCG training team.

This course focused on Maritime Law Enforcement instructional techniques and provided students with the capacity to understand and utilized fundamental Maritime Law Enforcement instructions. The curriculum focused on reducing unnecessary risks to the Boarding team while maximizing use of effective law enforcement techniques, high risk search techniques, extensive instruction and practical exercises. Many practical exercises were conducted onboard A543 and SLNS Mihikatha at Galle harbour.

IMLE course was successfully completed and the certificate awarding ceremony was conducted on 23rd March 2018 with the presence of the Director Training, Sri Lanka Coast Guard and other senior officers of CGHQ.
