CAPTAIN (ND) RAVINDRA TISSERA ASSUMES DUTIES AS NEW COMMANDING OFFICER OF SLCGS SURAKSHA

Captain (ND) Ravindra Tissera, assumed duties as the new Commanding Officer of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard’s Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) SLCGS Suraksha, on 27thAugust 2018. He was performing duties as the Director Operations of the SLCG prior to taking over the new appointment.

The former Commanding Officer of the ship, Captain (ASW) Nevil Ubayasiri officially handed over the command of the ship to the new Commanding Officer in a ceremony held at the Passenger pier in Colombo harbour. The outgoing Commanding officer Captain (ASW) Nevil Ubayasiri was accorded a Guard of Honour in accordance with tradition of Sri Lanka Coast Guard. The Deputy Director General of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard, Commodore YMGB Jayathilaka grace the occasion representing SLCG Headquarters. The proceedings of the occasion came to a close after the inspection of divisions by the new Commanding Officer.
