SLCG ARRESTED SIX FISHERMEN WITH 3KG OF SHARK FINS AND 38KG OF DRY SHARK

Sri Lanka Coast guard personnel on duty at Fishing Marshaling Point Cod bay arrested 06 fishermen with 08 No’s of shark fins (03 Kg) and Dry Shark 38 Kg whilst checking process was carried out for returning multiday fishing trawlers at 1030 hrs on 01st October 2018 and handed over same to Assistance Director Fisheries of Trincomalee for further investigations and legal actions.

Shark is a prohibited fish to catch, transport, sell, buy, receive or have in possession under the Gazette Extra ordinary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, No 2 of 1938 Dated 26th October 2015.
