SRI LANKA COAST GUARD LIFE SAVING TRAINING SCHOOL CONDUCTS BASIC LIFE SAVING COURSE FOR UVA WELLASSA UNIVERSITY STUDENTS FOR THE CONSECUTIVE FORTH TIME

Sri Lanka Coast Guard Life Saving Training School (LSTS) conducted a five day Basic and Resuscitation level lifesaving training courses to a group of Uwa – Wellassa University students from 11th to 15th February 2019 at Balapitiya. It was the fourth batch of students came from the same University for the lifesaving training at LSTS which included 09 male and 08 female students.

University students who were successfully completed the course received the certificates issued by the Sri Lanka Coast Guard at the closing ceremony held on 15th February 2019. The Regional Director Southern Region and Commanding officer of Sri Lanka Coast Guard Rohana, Commander RMG Rathnayake graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Head of Department of Department of Animal Science of Uwa –Wellassa University, Senior Lecturer N.P.P Liyanage and Directing staff, LSTS training staff and course participants attended the occasion.

Being a key stakeholder in Drowning Prevention and Water Safety National Plan of the Island, Sri Lanka Coast Guard continues to conduct such trainings and awareness prorgrammes for University students, School Children, and many other civil organizations since its inception.
