SRI LANKA COAST GUARD CONDUCTED A TREE PLANTING PROGRAMME AT SINHALA AND HINDU NEW YEAR

On vision of the President, the Presidential Secretariat launched, an island wide tree planting programme in parallel with Sinhala and Hindu new year at ‘Tree Planting Auspicious Time’ 11:17 a.m. on 15th April 2019. In order to support this national initiative the Sri Lanka Coast Guard conducted tree planting programmes at Coast Guard Headquarters, all Coast Guard Regional Headquarters, Coast Guard Bases and Stations around the country.

The Director General Rear Admiral Samantha Wimalathunga also joined the tree planting programme held at Coast Guard Headquarters, Mirissa and Sri Lanka Coast Guard continue to support accomplish its responsibility in protecting environment amidst its other committments to assure nation a greener future.
