Sri Lanka Coast Guard Facilitate Lifesaving Training in Collaboration SLLS/Life Saving Victoria (LSV) – Australia

Sri Lanka Coast Guard facilitated four days lifesaving training programme at Advanced Training Center, Mirissa held with the participation over 120 young life savers representing Sri Lanka Coast Guard, Sri Lanka Navy, Sri Lanka Army, Sri Lanka Air Force, Police, Civil Security Department, schools and Clubs. The programme was conducted by Sri Lanka Life Saving (SLLS) and Life Saving Victoria (LSV) – Australia in collaboration with Sri Lanka Coast Guard. Sri Lanka Coast Guard coordinated the event with the assistance of SLN considering the importance of this special training to uplift the standards of Life Savers Island wide and to ensure upholding the national drowning prevention initiative pioneered by Presidential Secretariat.

On successful completion of the training, participants were awarded with certificates by Life Saving Victoria (LSV) - Australia. The Deputy Director General of Sri Lanka Coast Guard, Commodore YMGB Jayathilaka graced the closing ceremony as Chief Guest whilst Mr. Norman Farmer, the Asia Pacific President of International Life Saving Federation (ILS) attended representing the ILS.
