Sri Lanka Coast Guard Conducted Series of Life Saving Awareness Workshops for Civilians at Several Locations at Hambanthota District in View of ‘RATA WENUWEN EKATA SITIMU’ (රට වෙනුවෙන් එකට සි

The Mobile training team of Sri Lanka Coast Guard Life Saving Training School conducted several life savings and drowning prevention awareness workshops for civilians and school children in kirindigama primary school, Bundala primary school, Hambanthota fishery harbor and Bandagiriya lake on 10th , 11th, 12th and 13th October 2019 respectively. These workshops were initiated under the directives of Presidential Secretariat Office as a part of ‘Rata Wenuwen Ekata Sitimu’ Hambanthota district programme.

These awareness workshops were conducted with the aim of educating civilians, specially fishing community and School children basically on water safety, drowning prevention and first aid. There were total of around 110 civilians, parents, teachers and around 200 school children participated and benefitted by the event. In addition, representatives from presidential secretariat, local government, divisional secretariat and many other governmental officials were also present.
