TRI LATERAL TABLE TOP EXERCISE (TTTX)

The ‘Tri-Lateral Table Top Exercise (TTTX)’ was conducted at SLCG Advanced Training Centre, Mirissa on 03rd and 04th January 2020, came to end at successful note following a brief closing ceremony. The Deputy Director General Sri Lanka Coast Guard, Commodore YMGB Jayatilaka, RSP, USP, BSc(DS) Hons was the chief guest of the certificate awarding ceremony at the end of the exercise.

TTTX continued for two (02) days, simulating a series of scenarios and contingencies in the context of Search and Rescue (SAR), Marine Environmental Protection and Unlawful Acts in IOR, where response and solution are demanded from maritime law enforcement agencies at regional level with inter-agency coordination.

Officers from Indian Coast Guard, Maldives National Defence Force, Sri Lanka Navy and Sri Lanka Coast Guard participated for the exercise and objective of this effort was to share the knowledge and experience, to enhance joint capacity and to strengthen a common network among agencies operating in close vicinity of Indian Ocean Region (IOR). Further, this exercise aimed at finding ways to countering transnational organized crimes among neighbour countries, through the application of new technologies and shared knowledge on respective agencies’ standard operating procedures.
