BEACH CLEANING IN WELLAWATHTHA AND PANADURA AREAS

SLCG conducted a beach cleaning programme in beach fronts of Wellawatta and Panadura areas on 21 June 2020 with the participation of more than 50 SLCG personnel. The Deputy Director General of Sri Lanka Coast Guard Cmde LHA Ranasooriya, RSP & Bar, USP, psc, MSc also took part the event.

SLCG is a leading organization to make waste-free beaches around the island and conduct series of activities aiming to clean beaches in the country. Owing to the recent COVID 19 pandemic outbreak, those activities withheld during last few months. With the easing up of the situation in the country, SLCG reinstated its environment protection activities under the direction of the Director General Coast Guard.
