INDIAN COAST GUARD SHIP ‘SAMAR’ & INDIAN COAST GUARD SHIP ‘ARYAMAN’ ARRIVED AT PORT OF GALLE

The Indian Coast Guard Ship ‘Samar’ & Indian Coast Guard Ship ‘Aryaman’ arrived at the Port of Galle on 04th December 2018 during their goodwill visit to Sri Lanka. The ships were ceremonially welcomed by the Sri Lanka Coast Guard and Southern Naval Command of SLN on their arrival.

The commanding officers of ICGS Samar and Aryaman paid a curtesy call to the Commander Southern Naval Area on 05th December at Southern Naval Headquarters and held cordial discussion on matters of mutual interest while exchanging mementos for symbolizing the event.

During their 03 days stay at Galle, the crew members visited the Coast Guard Southern Regional Headquarter at Mirissa for a friendly Volleyball Match & visited the places of interest in Southern Part of the island and also participated for beach cleaning programme at Galle along with Sri Lanka Coast Guard personnel. Further, a training programme on maritime search and rescue and marine pollution prevention was conducted on board ICGS Samar for SLCG Personnel.

The ships are scheduled to leave port of Galle in the evening of 7th December to return home after successful completion of the goodwill visit.
