COAST GUARD LIFESAVERS SAVED A LIFE AT MIRISSA BEACH

The lifesavers of Sri Lanka Coast Guard rescued a 30 year old local male whilst drowning at Mirissa beach on 10th January 2021. The prompt response by Coast Guard life savers help out to save the life of the rescuee.

The number of foreign and Sri Lankan beachgoers has largely plummeted due prevailing Covid 19 pandemic since March 2020. Despite less beachgoers, the Lifesavers of Sri Lanka Coast Guard rescued a total of 90 personnel in 2020, ensuring safety of lives at our pristine beaches.
