The Director General of Sri Lanka Coast Guard Rear Admiral Anura Ekanayake made his first official visit to SLCGS Suraksha, the flag ship of the Coast Guard on 16th February 2021.
The DGCG was accorded with a ‘Guard of Honour’ and was welcomed onboard by the Commanding Officer, Captain (N) Ruwan Rupasena and the officers of the SLCGS Suraksha.
Addressing the ship’s crew, the Director General appreciated the hard work and the dedication of the crew to make the ship operational within a short span of time after the major refit. Further, the Director General emphasized that the Coast Guard expects SLCGS Suraksha to uphold the maritime interest of Sri Lanka through effective law enforcement and sheer commitment.
The visit concluded with an interactive session with officers of the ship followed by an exchange of mementoes to mark the significance of the event. The Director Operations, Captain (N) Buddhika Jayaweera was also present at the occasion.
