DEFENCE SECRETARY VISITS SRI LANKA COAST GUARD HEADQUARTERS

The Secretary, Ministry of Defence and State Ministry National Security & Disaster Management, General Kamal Gunaratne (Retd), visited Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) Headquarters on 03^rd March 2021.

The Director General Sri Lanka Coast Guard, Rear Admiral Anura Ekanayake received the visiting Defence Secretary on his first official visit to SLCG and a ceremonial Guard of Honour was accorded upon his arrival.

The Defence Secretary also declared open a fully-fledged Gymnasium at the invitation of the Director General SLCG. General Gunaratne was briefed on the progress of the SLCG during a meeting held with the SLCG officials at the Coast Guard Headquarters.

Mementos were exchanged between the Defence Secretary and the Director General SLCG to mark the significance of the visit.
