OIL SPILL MANAGEMENT COURSE CONDUCTED FOR SHIP’S CREW OF SLCGS SAMUDRA RAKSHA SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDED IN GALLE PORT

The oil spill management course was conducted for ship’s crew of SLCGS Samudra Raksha by Advanced Training Centre - Mirissa affiliated to the Coast Guard Headquarters commenced at Galle port on 01st March 2021.

The 09 – days – long training programme was conducted under the guidance of Director (Training) – SLCG, Capt. HBK Manjula and participated 04 officers and 14 sailors of the ship including the Commanding Offcier.

This special training programme was carried out in such a manner enabling the participants to hone the basic and advanced knowledge in Oil Spill management which is the prime task of SLCGS Samudra Raksha. The training programme included both theory and practical sessions with the supervision and guidance of Advance Training Center OIC – Cdr (C) MMGUR Gamage and two instructor sailors. Course terminated on 09th March 2021 with the Certificate Awarding Ceremony.
