COAST GUARD LIFE SAVERS RESCUED A BOY FROM DROWNING

The Life Savers attached to Coast Guard Life Saving Posts, Pasikuda saved a 12 years old boy a resident of Moratuwa during a successful rescue attempt on 17th April 2021.

The boy was rescued whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near Pasikuda Beach.

The swift responses by skilled life savers of Coast Guard managed to bring back hope for drowning boy despite heavy current prevailed in the area.

Sri Lanka Coast Guard has established 18 Life Saving Posts at public beaches to ensure the beaches are safe for beachgoers. So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard life savers have rescued a total of 1558 invaluable lives including 703 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
