Eleven Life Saving Bronze Medalists trained by the Sri Lanka Coast Guard Life Saving Training School Balapitiya were qualified as International Lifesaver Federation Surf Life Guard Bronze Medalists on 22nd April 2021.
Initially the Basic Lifesaving course was started with 21 candidates on 15th March 2021 and terminated on 20th March 2021. Thereafter, Intermediate lifesaving training course was started with 16 candidates on 22nd March 2021 and terminated 03rd April 2021. Finally thirteen candidates were selected for the Bronze medallion course which was conducted from 05th April to 22nd April and only eleven qualified as Bronze Medalists.
These Bronze Medalists will be utilized for saving of valuable lives in tourist attracted beaches around the coastal belt of Sri Lanka. Life saving certificates were awarded by the Life Saving Association of Sri Lanka (SLLS) after passing the written and practical examination conducted by an SLLS Examiners.
Sri Lanka Coast Guard Life Saving Training School has produced 1320 life savers todate whom have saved 1559 valuable lives around the coastal belt of Sri Lanka.
