SAVED ANOTHER LIFE BY COAST GUARD AT GOPALAPURAM

The Life Savers attached to Coast Guard Life Saving Posts, Gopalpuram Beach, Trincomalee saved a local female during a successful rescue attempt on 01st August 2021.

The rescuer, a 31 years old female from Kandy was rescued around 1545 hrs whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near the Beach area.

Quick responses by skilled life savers of Coast Guard managed to bring back the lady ashore despite heavy current prevailed. She was given necessary first aid by the lifeguards and handed over to the family members when her condition became stable.

Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifeguards manning Gopalapuram Beach itself to ensure safety of the community. So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard life savers have rescued a total of 1561 lives including 703 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
