SRI LANKA COAST GUARD APPREHENDED A FISHING VESSEL WITH ILLEGALY HARVESTED DOLPHIN FLESH

Sri Lanka Coast Guard personnel deployed at Beruwala Fishery Harbour arrested 7 suspects with approx. 28kg of Dolphin flesh on 01^st August 2021.

Arrested 02 civilians and 05 crew of Multiday fishing vessel arrived Beruwala fishery harbour with Dolphin flesh handed over to fishery inspector Beruwala for further Legal action.

Sri Lanka Coast Guard carries out arrival and departure formalities of all incoming and outgoing multiday fishing vessels in 24 fishery harbours and the recent apprehension is a result to augmented searches at fishery harbours.
