SAVED ANOTHER LIFE BY COAST GUARD AT MOUNT LAVINIA

The Life Savers attached to Coast Guard Life Saving Posts, Mount Lavinia Beach saved a local female during a successful rescue attempt on 05th August 2021.

The rescuer, a 28 years old female from Mount Lavinia was rescued around 1145 hrs whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near the Beach area.

Quick responses by skilled life savers of Coast Guard managed to bring back the drowning female ashore despite heavy current prevailed. Rescuee was given necessary first aid by the lifeguards and she was transferred to Kalubowila Hospital for further treatment.

Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifeguards man lifesaving posts around the country to ensure safety of the beachgoers. So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard life savers have rescued a total of 1561 lives including 703 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts
