COAST GUARD LIFE SAVERS RESCUED SIX LOCALS FROM DROWNING IN FOUR SUCCESSFUL RESCUE ATTEMPTS

The Life Savers attached to Coast Guard Life Saving Posts, Mt Lavinia, Panadura and Coast Guard Life Saving Training School (LSTS), Balapitiya rescued five males and one female during four successful rescue attempts on 19th and 20th October 2021.

Two males (22 years and 15 years) from Boralesgamuwa and Mt Lavinia were rescued by Coast Guard life savers at Mt Lavinia beach and transferred to Teaching Hospital Kalubowila. Another two males (19 years and 16 years) from Panadura were also rescued by Coast Guard life savers at Panadura beach. A 27 years old male from Batapola and a 25 years old female from Balapitiya were rescued by the LSTS emergency response life saving team.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard life savers have rescued a total of 1585 invaluable lives including 703 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
