The advanced training center (ATC) of the Sri Lanka Coast (SLCG) conducted RHIB handling training programme for Sri Lanka Navy Marines and ten Marines were successfully completed the course from 25th to 29th October 2021 at Mirissa.
This training program has been designed to improve essential skills of RHIB handling in deferent weather including surf navigation, launch of RHIB, RHIB handling technology in various sea conditions, techniques of searching and locating victims at sea, handling of patients at sea, providing first aid, communications with the coast, transporting patients to shore safety and maritime search and rescue. Furthermore, this training program was an excellent opportunity for the SLCG to share its competencies and capacities with the SLN Marines and participant highlighted the importance of conducting similar type of training between two organizations.
The Closing Ceremony was held on 29th October 2021 at ATC Mirissa and Director Training Captain (G) JGDAK Jayaweera RWP, RSP, USP, psc presided over the Certificate Awarding Ceremony and Officer in charge of the ATC and instructors were present at the closing event.
