COAST GUARD LIFE SAVERS RESCUED THREE LOCALS FROM DROWNING IN TWO SUCCESSFUL RESCUE ATTEMPTS

The Life Savers attached to Coast Guard Life Saving Posts, Mt Lavinia and Bentota rescued three males during two successful rescue attempts on 18^th November 2021.

A 16 years old young boy from Rajagiriya was rescued by Coast Guard life savers at Mt Lavinia beach while drowning and dragging away by currents near the beach area. Another two males (61 years and 19 years) from Agalawaththa were also rescued by Coast Guard life savers at Bentota beach. The 61 years old male was transferred to Divisional Hospital Bentota for further treatments.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard life savers have rescued a total of 1594 invaluable lives including 706 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
