COAST GUARD LIFE SAVERS RESCUED A FOREIGNER AND THREE LOCALS FROM DROWNING IN TWO SUCCESSFUL RESCUE ATTEMPTS

The Life Savers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Life Saving Posts, at Benthota and Sri Lanka Coast Guard Life Saving Training School (LSTS), at Balapitiya had rescued a foreigner and three local tourists during two successful rescue attempts on 20th November 2021.

A 28 years old male from Germany was rescued by Coast Guard life savers at Benthota beach. Meanwhile, another two males (42 years and 16 years) and an 11 years old girl from Balapitiya also had rescued by Coast Guard life savers at the LSTS emergency response lifesaving team, while they drowning and dragging away by currents near the beach area. Subsequently, the 42 years old male and a girl were transferred to the Base Hospital Balapitiya.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard life savers had rescued 1,598 invaluable lives including 706 foreigners in these successful rescue attempts.
