COAST GUARD RESCUED THREE RUSSIAN NATIONALS AT RISK OF DROWNING

The Life Savers attached to Coast Guard Life Saving Post, Hikkaduwa rescued three Russians, during successful rescue attempts on 28th November 2021. Two Russian males (25 years and 22 years) and a 21 years old female were rescued whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near Hikkaduwa beach.

The swift responses by skilled life savers of the Coast Guard managed to bring back hope for drowning foreigners despite heavy current prevailed in the area.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard life savers have rescued a total of 1605 invaluable lives including 712 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
