SLCG LIFE SAVERS SAVED TWO DROWNING FOREIGNERS

The Life Savers attached to Coast Guard Life Saving Post Benthota saved two Russian Nationals in a successful rescue attempt on 17th December 2021.

The two Russian males of age of 73 and 35 were rescued whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near Benthota Beach.

The swift responses by skilled life savers of Coast Guard managed to bring back hope for two Russians who were on holiday at Benthota beach despite heavy current prevailed in the area.

Sri Lanka Coast Guard has established 18 Life Saving Posts at public beaches to ensure the beaches are safe for beachgoers. So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard life savers have rescued a total of 1619 invaluable lives including 709foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
