COAST GUARD RESCUED TWO LOCAL MALES FROM DROWNING AT BALAPITIYA BEACH

The Lifesavers attached to Coast Guard Life Saving Post, Balapitiya beach saved two local males during successful rescue attempts on 27th December 2021.

Two males (17 years and 18 years old) from Karandeniya were rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at Balapitiya beach whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near Balapitiya beach and transferred to Base Hospital Balapitiya by Suwa Seriya Ambulance Service to provide further medical care.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 1630 invaluable lives including 712 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
