COAST GUARD RESCUED TWO CIVILIANS AT MT LAVINIA BEACH

Lifesavers attached to the Coast Guard Life Saving Post, Mt Lavinia beach rescued two local males during successful rescue attempts on 30th December 2021.

A 32 years old male and 10 years old boy from Kandepola, Nuwara Eliya were rescued by the Coast Guard rescuers at Mt Lavinia beach whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near Mt Lavinia beach. Victims were transferred to Teaching Hospital Kalubowila by Suwa Seriya Ambulance Service to provide further medical care.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 1632 invaluable lives including 712 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
