COAST GUARD RESCUED THREE DROWNED CIVILIANS

Lifesavers attached to Coast Guard Life Saving Posts, Gopalpuram, Trincomalee and Panadura beach rescued three local males during successful rescue attempts on 01st January 2022.

A 44 years old male from Neriyakulam and 37 years old male from Mihinthale were rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at Gopalpuram beach, Trincomalee whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near Gopalpuram beach. Another 25 years old male, a resident of Bandaragama was rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at Panadura beach.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 1635 invaluable lives including 712 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
