COAST GUARD RESCUED A RUSSIAN NATIONAL AT RISK OF DROWNING

Lifesavers attached to the Coast Guard Life Saving Post, Hikkaduwa beach rescued a Russian national during a successful rescue attempt on 26th January 2022.

A 54 years old Russian male was rescued by the Coast Guard rescuers at Hikkaduwa, whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near Hikkaduwa beach.

So far, the Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 1646 invaluable lives including 715 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
