COAST GUARD RESCUED THREE FOREIGNERS AT RISK OF DROWNING

The Life Savers attached to Coast Guard Life Saving Post, Benthota rescued a Russian lady and two Lithuanian nationals, during successful rescue attempts on 18th February 2022. A 50 years old Russian lady, Lithuanian male (56 years) and a female (27 years) were rescued whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near Benthota beach.

The swift responses by skilled life savers of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard managed to bring back hope for drowning foreigners despite heavy current prevailed in the area.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard life savers have rescued a total of 1663 invaluable lives including 725 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
