COAST GUARD RESCUED TWO FOREIGNERS AND A LOCAL AT RISK OF DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Life Saving Posts, Mirissa and Pasikuda saved two Egyptian nationals and a local male during two successful rescue attempts on 05th March 2022.

Two Egyptian nationals (53 years old male and 29 years old female) were rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at Mirissa beach and a 19 years old local male from Batticaloa was rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at Pasikuda beach whilst drowning and dragging away by currents.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 1676 invaluable lives including 729 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
