COAST GUARD CELEBRATES 12^th ANNIVERSARY CONTRIBUTING MORE TOWARDS WATER SAFETY

In view of the 12^th anniversary celebration of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard, a team of surf lifeguards and pool lifeguards were passed out in a charming ceremony held at Life Saving Training School (LSTS), Balapitiya on 05^th March 2022. In this certificate awarding ceremony, which was graced by the Director Training of Sri Lanka Coast Guard, 21 Army and Air Force members were awarded with basic and resuscitation level lifeguard certificates. In addition to that 10 SLCG members were awarded with pool life guard certificate.

More lifeguard training opportunities have been extended for the members of the Army and Air Force in this year’s training calendar of LSTS under the directives of the Director General, Sri Lanka Coast Guard in view of promoting water safety and aquatic rescue to reduce the rising drowning mortality rate of the country.
