COAST GUARD RESCUED SEVEN LOCAL PERSONS AT RISK OF DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Life Saving Posts Gopalapuram, Trincomalee and Benthota saved six males and a female during two successful rescue attempts on 13th March 2022.

Two males and a female person from Panadura were rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at Gopalapuram beach. Meanwhile four males from Ganemulla area were rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at Benthota beach whilst drowning and dragging away by currents.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 1695 invaluable lives including 731 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
