COAST GUARD RESCUED TWO FOREIGNERS AT RISK OF DROWNING

The Life Savers attached to the Coast Guard Life Saving Post, Hikkaduwa rescued two foreigners, during successful rescue attempts on 15th March 2022. One 33 years old male and 34 years lady from Russia, were rescued whilst drowning and dragging away by the currents near Hikkaduwa beach.

The swift responses by skilled life savers of the Coast Guard managed to bring back hope for drowning foreigners despite heavy current prevailed in the area.

So far, the Sri Lanka Coast Guard life savers have rescued a total of 1697 invaluable lives including 733 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
