COAST GUARD RESCUED THREE FOREIGNERS AT RISK OF DROWNING

The Life Savers attached to Coast Guard Life Saving Post, Hikkaduwa rescued three Russian nationals, during a successful rescue attempt on 12th April 2022. A 39 years old male, 37 years old lady and 13 years old boy were rescued whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near Hikkaduwa beach.

The swift responses by skilled life savers of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard managed to bring back hope for drowning foreigners despite heavy current prevailed in the area.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard life savers have rescued a total of 1707 invaluable lives including 742 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
