LIFESAVING JOINT TRAINING COURSE

A joint lifesaving training course was conducted to improve interoperability among service personnel to act in collaboration for ensuring water safety and drowning prevention in the country. The training course was concluded in a charming ceremony on 12th April at Coast Guard Life Saving Training School Balapitiya (LSTS Balapitiya). The certificate awarding ceremony was graced by the Director Training of Sri Lanka Coast Guard and 04 officers and 09 sailors from the Sri Lanka Navy, 03 airmen from the Sri Lanka Air force and 05 Coastguard personnel were qualified as Intermediate Level Lifeguards after a thorough assessment of their cognitive and pragmatic skills to perform life rescues in aquatic emergencies.

This training course is recorded as the first lifeguard joint training course held in the lifesaving training school. More such lifesaving training programs have been scheduled in this year’s training calendar under the directives of Director General Sri Lanka Coast Guard to improve water safety consciousness among service personnel.
