COAST GUARD RESCUED FIVE FOREIGNERS AT RISK OF DROWNING

The Life Savers attached to Coast Guard Life Saving Post, Mirissa rescued five foreigners, during three successful rescue attempts on 07th May 2022. A 29 years old lady and two males (30 & 31 years old) from Russia and two ladies (28 & 55 years old) from Egypt were rescued whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near Mirissa beach.

The swift responses by skilled life savers of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard managed to bring back hope for drowning foreigners despite heavy current prevailed in the area.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard life savers have rescued a total of 1715 invaluable lives including 748 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
