COAST GUARD RESCUED A MALE FROM DROWNING AT BALAPITIYA BEACH

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Life Saving Post, Balapitiya beach saved a local male during successful rescue attempt on 15^th May 2022.

A 50 years old local male from Batapola was rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at Balapitiya beach whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near Balapitiya beach. Victim was transferred to Base Hospital Balapitiya by Suwa Seriya Ambulance Service to provide further medical care.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 1716 invaluable lives including 748 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
