COAST GUARD RESCUED A RUSSIAN NATIONAL AT RISK OF DROWNING

The Life Savers attached to Coast Guard Life Saving Post, Hikkaduwa rescued a Russian National, during a successful rescue attempt on 16th May 2022. A 47 years old male from Russia was rescued whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near Hikkaduwa beach.

The swift responses by skilled lifesavers of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard managed to bring back hope for drowning foreigner despite heavy current prevailed in the area.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 1717 invaluable lives including 749 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
