COAST GUARD RESCUED A MALE FROM DROWNING AT MT LAVINIA BEACH

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Life Saving Post, Mt Lavinia beach saved a local male during successful rescue attempt on 22nd May 2022.

A 29 years old local male from Hatton was rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at Mt Lavinia beach whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near Mt Lavinia beach. The swift responses by skilled lifesavers of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard managed to bring back hope for drowning person despite heavy current prevailed in the area.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 1718 invaluable lives including 749 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
