NEW DEPUTY DIRECTOR GENERAL APPOINTED FOR COAST GUARD

Commodore Pujitha Vithana,USP, ndu has been appointed as the Deputy Director General of Sri Lanka Coast Guard with effect from 10^th June 2022. Accordingly, former Deputy Director General Janaka Nissanka, RWP, RSP, USP, ndc, nswc, MSc(NS&WS) officially handed over the duties of the position to the new Deputy Director General at the Coast Guard Headquarters.

Commodore Pujitha Vithana joined the Sri Lanka Navy as an Officer Cadet of the 18^th Intake in 1988 and has an illustrious career spanning over 33 years. Prior to being appointed as the Deputy Director General SLCG, Commodore Pujitha Vithana had been serving as the Deputy Area Commander - Eastern Naval Area of the Sri Lanka Navy. Addressing the Head of Departments he said that each coast guard person should be committed to perform duties & responsibilities of the coast guard focusing on national interest, especially taking into account the current isssues in the country.

Meanwhile Commodore Janaka Nissanka has been appointed as the Acting Director General Administration of the Sri Lanka Navy and he was accorded a Guard of Honour, before he took leave from premises.
