CAPTAIN LASANTHA VITHANAGE ASSUMED COMMAND OF COAST GUARD CAPITAL SHIP SURAKSHA

Captain (G) Lasantha Vithanage assumed duties as Commanding Officer of SLCGS Suraksha, the flag ship of Sri Lanka Coast Guard on 27^th June 2022.

The Change of Command Ceremony was graced by the Director General of Sri Lanka Coast Guard Rear Admiral Anura Ekanayake. The former Commanding Officer of the ship Captain (C) Aruna Wijayawardhana formally handed over the duties to his successor after a brief but colourful ceremony at Passenger Terminal, Colombo harbour. The proceeding of the event came to a closure after an inspection of divisions by new Commanding Officer. Captain (C) Aruna Wijayawardhana appointed as the Head of Naval Research Wing at SLNS Gemunu, Welisara.
