COAST GUARD RESCUED TWO FOREIGNERS AND A LOCAL AT RISK OF DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Life Saving Posts, Hikkaduwa and Panadura saved two Russian nationals and a local male during two successful rescue attempts on 17th July 2022.

Two Russian nationals (29 and 27 years old males) were rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at Hikkaduwa beach and a 22 years old local male from Weerawila was rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at Panadura beach whilst drowning and dragging away by currents.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 1725 invaluable lives including 751 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
