COAST GUARD RESCUED TWO PERSONS FROM DROWNING AT GOPALPURAM BEACH

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post, Gopalpuram beach saved two persons during successful rescue attempt on 31th July 2022.

A 20 years old male and 13 years old girl, residents of Medawachchiya area were rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at Gopalpuram beach whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near Gopalpuram beach.

The swift responses by skilled lifesavers of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard managed to bring back hope for these drowning persons despite the heavy current prevailing in the area.

So far, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 1729 invaluable lives including 751 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts
